Beaches Resident Brad Bradford Announces Candidacy for Ward 37
Community member and urban planner hopes to add fresh, informed voice to Council
June 15, 2018
(Toronto) – Brad Bradford, an urban planner and active community member, spends his days working with government, businesses, not-for-profits, and community groups to build a better Toronto. Now, he has signed up to run for council in Ward 37 to ensure that desire for a better Toronto is shared by a local government focused on progress and accountability.
“With the support of my friends, neighbours, and team, I am here today to announce my candidacy for City Councillor in Ward 37,” said Brad today outside City Hall.
Brad knows Toronto is a great place to live but also knows that residents are facing some enormous challenges, including affordability, inadequate transit, and unsafe streets.
“Time after time, we see short-term thinking used to solve these long-term problems. We see partisanship get in the way of progress. And we see the concerns of voters pushed to the side for the interests of politicians. I believe that government has a responsibility to step up - to take action. And that’s why we’re here today.”
Brad is committed to the fight for a fairer, more inclusive society where voices are heard and decision-makers work in the public interest. Politics cannot get in the way of meaningful progress.
Brad is a Board Member of the Danforth East Community Association and in 2016 he won the Canadian Institute of Planners President’s Award for his work on the FutureFORWARD Task Force. An avid cyclist, Brad launched the Toronto Hustle project in 2017 to develop the next generation of Canadian athletes, while providing a platform for active transportation advocacy across North America.
Election day is October 22, 2018. You can learn more about Brad and his campaign by visiting bradbradford.ca
